Google Dart, a possably new way in web developing.

Hello world,
I got an email from O'reily with an articale on Google's new "Dart" web programming language, I know we don't need any more languages in web design, but I think this one could be different, check it out here :

Google might have something here! It seems great so far but it is very new so no one knows what could happen.

"Big Brother" Apple strike again, this time on java too!

Hello world,
Well I have been looking around the internet for some programming news and well I found this:

http://www.teleread.com/chris-meadows/apple-actions-on-flash-and-java-app-store-restrictions-fuel-incipient-orwellian-paranoia/

Well looks like Apple did it a again, first with Flash now with Java, first with iPhone next with the desktop! They are slowly trying to git rid of what they "don't like" and what does't fit in their marketing systems.  I understand the need for a trustable place to download "apps" or what used to be called "programs", but making an "App store" for desktops sounds fishy coming for Apple, sounds like some day they might make that the only way to download "apps", just like iPhone!

So I am seeing and many others have seen for a long time, Apple is going to make their "utopia", with them as the goverment; And with nothing to stop them from becoming a monoploy of control and money. However, them realy making said monoploy is unlikely but it may make a dent in the computer world either way.

Don't get me wrong I like Apple and the idea is not a bad one, but I see apple tends to go too far in all this stuff, not only do they want a "utopia" but they want the market and they will do just about anything to get there...

I could be all wrong but this seems to be bad news for Java, flash, and any one else in the "list". I see a push to go to Objective-C and html5 only! I like Objective-C but it is not the only one under the sun! And HTML5, it is a makeup language, not a programming language. It is nice to make it better but why try to make it more than what it is; leave it to PHP, javascrpit, or flash to do that. I understand making internet standerds, but some times you need variety; unity is good and needed, but too much makes for too much control.

Basicly what I am saying is *uses irish acsent* "FREEDOM"!

I could be wrong but what if I, and many looking forward, are right?

Stencyl, simple "no-code" programming with more power!

Hello world,
Well I found a nice program called Stencyl, it is just like scratch in the fact that it uses a graphical "snap on puzzle peace" way of programming, but it has more support and is more for really making a sell able game or software that can be made once and used on many OS (operating system, like windows, or mac) and it works on Windows, Mac, Linux, and even smartphones like android and iPhone! It even publishes HTML 5.0! Though iStencyl(the iPhone features) it is not free! Only the mac version is and does not let you put the app on the app market! You have to pay to get a non-Mac version and all the feature and you have to have a Mac no matter what to download the app to the app market (that is not Stencyl's fault it is that way no matter what), though it is a great idea for those not really wanting to learn all the techy stuff but are good at graphics or such. It is a 149/year charge for iStencyl and free for the Flash-only version, so for flash developers this is still FREE to publish Flash games! Here is the links:

blender, blend up some nice 3D with this editor!

Hello World,
with a resent addition of linux Ubuntu 11.10 on my PC, I now have a Dual-boot (you can choose when the computer starts up to do Linux or windows7) OS system, I will get in to that latter but for now I will talk about a program I found from the GNU project (the prime sofware company(they also have credit in "making parts" and "default software" of the OS) behind linux stuff) a great and powerfull 3D editor that is compareable to many "big bucks" expencive 3D editors! hmmm this sounds just like how GIMP was doesn't it? well that i becasue GNU made both! It almost seems that GNU has a free powerfull version of every software! so any who I have been using blender and reading and whatching about all the features (the community has A LOT of stuff) and found it to be easy to use, customizable, powerful, multi-purpose (animation and more), and most of all FREE AND OPEN SOURCE!Another nice thing is like GIMP it works on windows and mac and Linux!

So for any of you 3D loving modelers hobbyist or even pros this is a great download

Ogmo level editor, a simple interface to make life easyer

Hello world,
Today I am going to show you a simple open source level editor called Ogmo, this level editor take XML, a very easy language (no need to really "learn it" it is so easy) to use and have AS3 or any other language edit and work off of. At the moment of writing this it is in a transition stage from Ogmo1 to Ogmo2 which I hear is a lot easier to use and has an even better user interface. All you have to do is write a small simple file to set up layers and objects and then open the file with ogmo and place the objects in the layers and bang! You have your self a nice little XML file that you can easy have AS3 or other languages use as levels, all you need to program is one class to make tons of levels! And because it is open source you can add on to the level editor or do any thing with the code! It is really a great find that I have used in all my games enjoy :)

Sketchup, a 3D editor by google, no not a condiment!

Hello World,
today i am going to serve you up something on your tables! A 3D editor that is need to spice up ever "person who likes 3D's" programs! This simple and easy to use program for making models, though it is not great on rounder objects (though it can be easily done) it is great on buildings and/or items. It is easy to use and very Perice, you can measure out your creations in feet and inches(or meters for metric) to make very close (if on exact) replicas of any thing! it is used professionally and used for google maps/earth's 3D! Take a look at the site they can do more justice to the program than I.
